Late Autumn

Cold, cold nights . . . but nice sunny days. A lazy Sunday visit to the Telstra Tower with its view over Canberra and out to the snow kissed Australian Alps followed by some fun in the rainforest part of the Botanic Gardens.

A vacant block in the heart of town - sometimes there are sheep here which gives the place a real country feel.

A cold foggy Sunday morning

Was what we woke up to on the tablelands where winter is coming, so Henri, Oliver and I jumped in the car and headed down the coast. The forecast was for surf.  Henri took a couple of photos but I was in too much in a hurry to get into the water to document the perfect lines rolling in. Three hours later I was surfed out and the boys were ready for fish and chips and the drive home. Perfect.

With the first snows of the season on the mountains, its the time of the year to start heading down the coast again.  The weather is clearer than in summer, the crowds are gone and, for now at least, the water is warm.

So off we went for the second week of the School holidays.

Back in the Routine

Forgive me as its been over a month since my last post.  Its been a wet, work-filled end to a summer that never really took off.  Our success in the garden has, as a result, been variable.  The kids have been back at school and weekends have been very busy with chores but relatively uneventful.

The rain has been impressive (as have the rainbows)

A kitten appeared one day (and decided to stay)

The last of the tomatoes aren't worth photographing but the second wave of beans are coming on strong as are the figs.

Easter is coming up and some late season camping is a possibility as long as the forecast isn't right - minus four forecast overnight for Good Friday.
